My Hometown - Somerset, KY
I'm from Somerset, a small town in Kentucky. Although it is small relative to a lot of places in Kentucky, Somerset does have a tourisitic charm. One of the biggest draws to Somerset is Lake Cumberland. A lot of people come in the summer to camp and do other various activities. Another notable draw is the "Summer Nights Cruise". Multiple Saturdays throughout the year people from all over bring all kinds of interesting vehicles to showcase for the "cruise". Crowds of people sit along HWY 27 to watch as these vehicles drive by. This is usually a whole day event with vendors set up downtown for people who choose to walk around and look. Events like the car show and other festivals is a big source of income for local businesses and it is what makes Somerset what it is today.
My Major/Minor and Future Plans
I am majoring in communications with an emphasis in media production and a minor in IT. I plan to work seasonal jobs while trying to find a job in the field that I desire. Working seasonal jobs, like working on Mackinac Island or at a state park, gives me the opportunity to travel and see new places while being able to save up a lot of money to insure I am financially secure as I am searhcing for a more permanent job. I'm not entirely sure what I want my career to be exactly, but I have thought about a few things.
My "Relationship" with the internet
I mainly use the internet to listen to music/make music, talk to friends, or do school work. I feel like the most important thing about the internet is being able to keep in touch with people better. I spend a lot of time on the internet, maybe more than I should. Most of what I do for hobbies and for my major/minor has to do with the internet
